Erik Ten Hag to Stay with United After Tuchel Declines

Erik ten Hag, the Man United coach, is expected to remain as Manchester United manager next season, with the possibility of a potential contract renewal.

Manchester United has reportedly decided to continue working with their current manager, Erik ten Hag and is planning to for a contract extension.

Rumors had circulated that the Red Devils were considering firing the Dutch manager before the FA Cup final, even started to look for others who could fill the role. However, ten Hag’s victory over Manchester City influenced the post-season review, leading to the decision to keep him, according to reports.

David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that the Manchester United leadership has decided to continue with Ten Hag following a lengthy review of the 2023/24 season. According to reports, the board has already informed Ten Hag that he would keep his job.

Ten Hag, who signed a three-year contract when he joined the club in the summer of 2022, faced a lot of scrutiny as he led the Red Devils to their worst finish in Premier League history, he even risked not entering the final year of his contract.

Manchester United’s leadership considered firing Erik Ten Hag and even held discussions with potential replacements, including former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who declined the offer.

However, the club has now decided to stick with Ten Hag, who managed to finish the season on a high, beating “noisy neighbours” Manchester City to FA Cup glory.
