PDP Ex-Officio Member AbdulYekeen Ademola Santos Passes Away

AbdulYekeen Ademola Santos, an ex-officio member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West region, has passed away at the age of 75. His death was confirmed in a statement issued by Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, and the representative for Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency.

Olajide expressed condolences on behalf of the party members in Oyo State, highlighting Santos’ significant contributions to the political landscape. “Santos was a devoted and selfless leader who dedicated his life to the service of humanity, leaving an indelible mark on the political landscape of Oyo State,” he said. He further noted that Santos’ death is a profound loss for the PDP community.

In a separate statement, the Oyo State PDP, through its PRO Micheal Ogunsina, echoed these sentiments, describing Santos as a true Democrat and a dedicated leader. “It is with a heavy heart and gratitude for a life well spent that we announce the death of our dear Leader, an Elder statesman, a true Democrat and a member of the South West Zonal Executives, Alhaji Chief Abdul Yekeen Ademola Santos,” Ogunsina said.

Santos was buried on Saturday according to Islamic rites at his residence in Oyo Town. The PDP Chairman in Oyo East Local Government, Hon Sakiru Ojo, confirmed the burial details, expressing prayers for Santos’ soul and offering condolences to his family and political associates.
