Former House of Representatives member Mark Gbillah has called for the public release of the investigation results concerning the faulty presidential jet. Gbillah, who previously represented the Gwer East/Gwer West Federal Constituency of Benue State and chaired the House committee investigating crude oil theft, emphasized the need for transparency during an appearance on Channels TV.
The importance of public awareness and expert involvement in assessing the jet’s condition. Gbillah asserted that the aircraft’s lifespan is within acceptable limits and suggested that maintenance lapses could be the root cause of its issues.
Gbillah stressed the inappropriateness of purchasing a new presidential jet amidst the country’s economic challenges. He argued that if the investigation reveals maintenance issues, these should be addressed without resorting to acquiring a new aircraft, which he deemed insensitive given the current living conditions in Nigeria.
