PETROAN President Blames NNPC for Fuel Scarcity

Billy Gillis-Harry, President of PETROAN, has attributed the recent fuel scarcity across Nigeria to a shortage in Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) supply from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). In an interview with DAILY POST, Gillis-Harry highlighted the impact on Abuja, Nasarawa, and other states, where long queues have been observed at filling stations.

Gillis-Harry emphasized that the scarcity arises from the inability of fuel marketers, including PETROAN members, to obtain products for sale. He clarified that pricing is dictated by purchase costs, as they do not directly import fuel themselves.

The PETROAN president addressed speculation about the upcoming supply from Dangote refinery, noting that it has yet to deliver any fuel, including Automotive Gas Oil (diesel). He underscored the importance of NNPCL maintaining consistent imports to meet national fuel demand amid ongoing challenges in the supply chain.
