Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an APC chieftain, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the escalating cost of food items in Nigeria, highlighting widespread hunger and poverty.
Speaking in Osogbo, Oyintiloye noted that staple foods like rice, beans, garri, and spaghetti are becoming unaffordable for many Nigerians, exacerbating the economic hardship and uncertainty about daily meals.
He cited the National Bureau of Statistics’ report showing a food inflation rate of 40.66% in May, and criticized the historical failure to utilize Nigeria’s resources productively. Despite Tinubu’s intervention efforts, Oyintiloye emphasized the need for more effective measures to alleviate the crisis.
