Menstrual cycle is the process of change undergone in a female’s body that prepared them for pregnancy. There are four stages of menstrual cycle:
Menstruation: Commonly known as period that flows from the uterus down and out of the vagina in form of blood. This is why sanitary pads are used to protect the blood from spilling or staining our wares. Pads should be changed 3 to 4 hours in a day to avoid bad bacteria or rash that could affect the uterus.
The follicular stage:This phase, the pituitary gland in your brain that stimulates hormones for the production of follicles on the surface of the ovary.
Ovulation phase: This stage emerge when the matured egg is released from the fallopian tube to the uterus. This happens two weeks every month before your next period.
The Luteal phase : Also called the luteum, it produces progesterone and oestrogen which maintains thickened lining in the uterus. If pregnancy doesn’t surface at this time, the progesterone dies and blood begins to flow again.
That being said , what are the things that causes menstrual pain?
Asides the high intake of sugary substances, abnormal growth of tissue outside the uterus can cause menstrual pain, fibroids can also be a defect, pelvic disease caused by sexually transmitted infections can cause menstrual pain.
First aids hacks to reduce or stop Menstrual pain:
Take lemon and lime
Use hot water bottles and place it on the abdomen area
Drink warm water
