Olusegun Dada Replies Nigerians Amid Protest

Olusegun Dada, who is President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, , has reacted to Nigerians digging out old tweets of him calling for protest against former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Dada had also taken to his X account to warn that those planning to burn the country down would be met with strong resistance from the majority that placed President Bola Tinubu in power.

He wrote, “Those who want to burn the country down under whatever guise will meet the strongest resistance of their lives. Not from security agencies, but from the silent majority that gave their mandate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for four years in the first instance. We are waiting.”

The strong warning comes at a time when Nigerians planned a nationwide protest against economic hardship and bad government policies driven by the fuel subsidy removal.

Nigerians

Dada’s post has elicited various reactions, with some netizens sharing old posts of the media aide calling for protests during Jonathan’s regime.

Based on his earlier post, he didn’t say Nigerians shouldn’t protest, however, ‘burning the country’ will be resisted.

He also said that his old tweets should teach people that chest-thumping on social media cannot bring them the leaders they want.

“If my old posts have taught you nothing, it should teach you that votes, not protests nor chest thumping on Social media can bring you the leader you desire.
