Normalcy is gradually returning to Sokoto State as the nationwide protests against bad governance enter their second day. On Thursday, major streets, including the front gate of the Government House, were filled with protesters. By Friday, these streets were largely empty, with businesses beginning to reopen.
According to Punch, streets such as Bello Way, Gusau Road, Sultan Palace, Government House, and Emir Yahya Roads saw no protest activity. Some traders, particularly near the old market, Sahara, and Central Market, partially reopened their shops. However, banks and some government offices remain closed.
