Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the current administration under President Bola Tinubu for worsening the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians. Speaking through his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku noted that the hardship under Tinubu’s government is twice as severe as what Nigerians endured under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Atiku expressed disappointment that it took public protests for the government to acknowledge the suffering of the people. He emphasized that the challenges Nigeria faces today, such as economic recession, insecurity, and corruption, have intensified under Tinubu’s leadership.
He also questioned the progress of the Dangote Refinery, highlighting concerns about whether the current administration has compromised this important investment. Atiku concluded by expressing doubts about the government’s readiness to address Nigeria’s pressing problems.
