Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has predicted that Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, will lose his seat in 2027. Ejiofor made this statement in response to Kalu’s recent comment that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will take over Abia State from the Labour Party in the next election.
Ejiofor criticized Kalu, accusing him of being disconnected from the realities in Abia State and attempting to bring the state back to an era of poor governance. He confidently stated that Kalu would face significant challenges in retaining his position as the representative of Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections, emphasizing that the people of Abia would make their voices heard.
He further advised Kalu to prepare for the upcoming challenges, stressing that Abia State needs leaders who truly understand and are connected to the struggles of the people. Ejiofor’s remarks reflect the growing political tension as the 2027 elections approach.
