Victor Olatunji is keen to represent Nigeria in international football, following his impressive displays for Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
Victor, The 25-year-old striker made a strong impact in his UEFA Champions League debut, where he scored a goal and provided an assist in Slavia Prague’s 3-0 victory over Salzburg on the 18th of September. This standout performance has only intensified Olatunji’s desire to don the green and white of Nigeria.
Speaking about his ambitions, Victor Olatunji expressed the immense pride and honour he would feel representing his country on the global stage.
The 25-year-old striker said in an interview with Blesk, “It is a big goal for any young player, especially for us Nigerians. We are proud to play for our country. Just wearing a green jersey and an eagle emblem will give a player motivation.
“He will realize that he represents a country of more than 220 million people. And that makes him work with all his heart.”
Olatunji began his professional career with Lagos Islanders and later went on loan to various European clubs. On July 1st 2023, he made a permanent move to Czech side Slovan Liberec for a €500,000 transfer fee.
Just a few weeks later, on the 17th of July, he transferred to Sparta Prague for €900,000. Despite his club successes, Olatunji has yet to represent Nigeria at any level.
