Manchester City’s Rodri has officially been crowned the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, confirming widespread speculation.
France football revealed the 28-year-old midfielder as this year’s recipient, following a remarkable season where he helped Manchester City win the Premier League and guided Spain to victory in the European Championships, earning Player of the tournament honours.

Many had expected Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. to claim the award with strong support on social media. However, when the news leaked that the Brazillian would not be the winner, fans were left in shock.

After much anticipation, the rumours were confirmed during the ceremony when 1995 Ballon d’Or winner, Liberia’s George Weah, presented Rodri with the award.
