Trump Appoints Tom Homan as Border Czar

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Tom Homan, the former Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as his administration’s Border Czar. Homan will oversee national border security and manage the deportation of undocumented immigrants. Known for his tough stance on immigration, Homan’s appointment signals a continuation of hardline policies aimed at deterring illegal immigration.

Homan served as acting ICE director from 2017 to 2018, during which he advocated for strict immigration enforcement, leading to a significant increase in deportation arrests. Trump expressed confidence in Homan’s leadership abilities, calling him a stalwart on border control. His appointment is expected to reinforce Trump’s commitment to securing the U.S. border and upholding immigration laws.

In addition to Homan’s appointment, Trump named Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff. Wiles, who played a crucial role in Trump’s 2024 campaign, will become the first woman to hold the position. Her political expertise is anticipated to shape the administration’s policy direction and operational efficiency, alongside Homan’s focus on border security.
