Hadiza el-Rufai, wife of former Kaduna governor Nasir el-Rufai, confronted her son Bashir on X (formerly Twitter) after he criticized President Bola Tinubu’s media team. Bashir had called them “ineffectual clowns” for their response to ex-President Obasanjo’s critique of the 2023 elections and INEC. Obasanjo labeled the election a “travesty,” sparking a sharp rebuttal from Tinubu’s team.
Bashir went on to question the administration’s priorities, noting that inflation remains high while the media team focuses on Obasanjo. He remarked that the administration’s approach appeared “mentally off.”
Hadiza’s response to her son’s comments added tension to the online exchange, highlighting the divide within the family over Tinubu’s government and its handling of criticism.
