Motorists faced gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Wednesday morning after multiple accidents on Kara Bridge caused severe traffic congestion and one fatality. Eight vehicles, including container trucks and cars, were involved in two separate crashes outward Lagos.
The first accident occurred at midnight, claiming the life of a bus driver and injuring four others. Shortly after, a second crash involving several vehicles caused further chaos, though no additional fatalities were reported. Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials confirmed the incidents and coordinated efforts to clear the wreckage.
As of Wednesday morning, traffic stretched back to the 7-Up area in Lagos, leaving commuters stranded. Frustrated motorists called for better road management and alternative routes to prevent similar incidents in the future.
