A massive fire broke out at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office in Oshodi, Lagos, near Cappa Bus Stop, around midnight on Christmas Day. As of 4 a.m. on Boxing Day, rescue teams were still working to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, along with the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), has been actively battling the blaze. Although no casualties have been reported so far, the fire has caused significant destruction, with property worth millions of naira lost.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and investigations are expected to follow. Efforts to fully extinguish the fire and assess the damage are ongoing.
