The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised President Bola Tinubu to prioritize addressing critical issues affecting Nigerians, such as hunger, insecurity, and high fuel costs, before delivering a New Year message. The party emphasized that if the President lacks concrete solutions, he should forgo any 2025 address to citizens.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP criticized Tinubu’s past speeches as empty rhetoric and called for tangible actions to revive the economy, create jobs, and improve living standards. The party accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of insensitivity, claiming public funds are being misused to sustain luxurious lifestyles while ordinary Nigerians suffer.
The PDP also congratulated Nigerians on the arrival of 2025, encouraging them to remain hopeful for a better future. The party called on the President to provide a transparent account of funds accrued from subsidy removal and take urgent steps to alleviate the suffering of citizens, ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
