Obaseki Denies Remarks About Nyesom Wike

Former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has dismissed reports claiming he made remarks about Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. In a statement by his Media Adviser, Crusoe Osagie, Obaseki described the reports as false and urged the public to disregard the publication.

The report, published on Opera News, falsely claimed Obaseki appeared on a Port Harcourt-based news platform and made comments about Wike. Obaseki clarified that he completed his tenure as governor in November 2024 and was not in Port Harcourt as alleged.

Obaseki emphasized that he never regarded Wike as his godfather, noting they were simply contemporaries as governors. He called the publication misleading and reiterated that the claims should be entirely dismissed.
