Former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka has criticized Nigeria’s political elites for being out of touch with citizens’ struggles. He blamed flawed elections and corruption for leadership failures, calling it a “hijack” by the ruling class.
Chidoka also pointed out the “elite secession,” where leaders and their families avoid public schools, hospitals, and social facilities. This disconnect, he said, prevents policies from addressing basic needs like education and healthcare.
He further lamented Nigeria’s failure to benefit from the global cocoa boom, emphasizing the need for local processing to boost economic growth.
