Re-elected PDP South-South Zonal Vice Chairman, Dan Orbih, has blamed the party’s ongoing crisis on self-inflicted issues. Speaking at the zonal congress in Calabar, he accused some members of disregarding the party’s constitution for personal gain and called for electing leaders who uphold party principles with integrity. He urged sacrifices to rebuild the party and warned against dictating friendships and alliances within PDP.
Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike dismissed calls for a fresh zonal congress, insisting that the election held in Calabar was final. He challenged the PDP’s National Working Committee, stating that no constitutional basis exists for postponement. Wike reaffirmed the South-South’s dominance in PDP and urged members to elect leaders who would strengthen and protect the party’s unity.
