Kaduna Church Supports Muslims During Ramadan and Sends Food item .

In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, no fewer than 1,000 disadvantaged Muslims and Islamic institutions received food aid from a Kaduna-based church to support their Ramadan fast. The Church of Christ Evangelical and Life Intercessory Ministry, led by Pastor Yohanna Buru, spearheaded the initiative, distributing grains in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area. This gesture, driven by a commitment to peaceful coexistence, comes at a time when many are struggling under economic hardship.

Pastor Buru emphasized that for the past 19 years, the church has consistently provided food relief to impoverished Muslims across five northern states, fostering a culture of mutual respect and interfaith harmony. He highlighted the selfless efforts of Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, a Muslim woman who annually donates to Christian widows and orphans during festive periods, inspiring the church’s ongoing support. This year, they have secured 30 bags of maize and millet, targeting over 1,000 beneficiaries. Beyond donations, the church has also mobilized pastors and imams to advocate against exploitative price hikes in local markets.

Grateful recipients, including representatives of persons with disabilities, lauded the church’s unwavering kindness. Malam Hassan Lawal and Malam Tukur Zubairu, leaders within the disability community, expressed deep appreciation, recognizing the church’s consistent role in easing the burden of fasting Muslims. At a time when division often dominates headlines, this act of generosity underscores the power of love, unity, and shared humanity.
