Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has called on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to present concrete evidence supporting her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. He emphasized that without proof, the claims remain mere accusations, urging her to publicly disclose any messages or recordings that could substantiate her case.
Adeyanju also criticized the prolonged focus on the controversy, arguing that Nigerians should prioritize more pressing issues, such as the Tax Reform Bill, which could negatively impact low- and middle-income earners. He pointed out the lack of public outcry when lawmakers distributed cars, funds, and budgetary allocations but are now embroiled in personal disputes.
While acknowledging Natasha’s grievances, Adeyanju insisted that justice requires evidence. He urged her to expose any incriminating proof rather than allowing the matter to remain a subject of debate. Ultimately, he believes Nigerians should shift their attention to governance issues that directly affect their daily lives.
