Arsenal is set to initiate formal negotiations with Bukayo Saka regarding a contract extension, as the talented forward enters the final two years of his current deal.
Saka has been sidelined since December after suffering a severe hamstring tear during Arsenal’s victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The injury ultimately required surgical intervention, keeping him out of action for an extended period.

Despite his absence, the 23-year-old remains a crucial figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad. Arsenal is determined to secure his long-term future and will soon engage in discussions with his representatives to agree on a new contract.
The club aims to prevent any uncertainty surrounding Saka’s future by making his contract renewal a top priority. His existing agreement, signed in 2022, is reportedly worth at least £10 million per season and is set to expire in 2027. Arsenal has already begun laying the groundwork for negotiations, with talks expected to intensify in the near future.

Given Saka’s reputation as one of Europe’s most promising attacking players, clubs across the continent will closely monitor the situation. Before committing to his last contract, Saka attracted strong interest from Manchester City, and if negotiations with Arsenal stall, other elite clubs could emerge as potential suitors.

However, Arsenal remains optimistic about reaching an agreement, especially considering their resurgence as Premier League title contenders under Arteta. Additionally, their continued participation in the Champions League could play a pivotal role in convincing Saka to extend his stay at the Emirates.
At present, Saka is focused on his recovery following his hamstring surgery. Arteta provided an encouraging update after Arsenal’s recent win over Chelsea, suggesting that the winger has a strong chance of returning soon after the ongoing international break. Arsenal’s next fixture is against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on April 1.

Saka is not the only Arsenal player nearing the final stretch of his contract. Midfielders Thomas Partey and Jorginho are both set to become free agents at the end of the season and, as things stand, are expected to leave the club in the summer.
Meanwhile, Leandro Trossard, who has engaged in preliminary discussions over a new contract, is tied to the club until the summer of 2026. Additionally, key defensive players William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, alongside Saka, have contracts expiring in 2027.

Regarding his own contract situation, Saliba recently stated that formal talks have not yet commenced, but he reaffirmed his commitment to the club, saying, “For me, I’m really happy here. I’m happy here and I want to continue here.”
Magalhães, on the other hand, has already been involved in discussions about an extension. The Brazilian defender has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, making his contract negotiations a situation to watch closely.
