Gunmen attacked the family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State, on Tuesday night. The attackers believed the Senator was in town and stormed her grandfather’s house, damaging windows. Luckily, security operatives and local residents quickly chased them away, and no one was hurt.
Senator Natasha’s media team believes the attack may be linked to her recent bold accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. She had earlier claimed he sexually harassed her, and the attack, they say, seems like an attempt to silence her.
The Senator explained that her brother had gone with some workers to inspect areas for new projects in the community. The gunmen may have thought she was there and attacked. She is now calling on the police to restore her full security protection, while urging Nigerians to stay calm and support the fight for justice.
