Pastor Tunde Bakare has raised serious concerns about the state of Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the country is sliding into tyranny. Speaking during his Easter message, the popular pastor and founder of Global Community Citadel Church said democracy is collapsing, and power is being abused.
He slammed the National Assembly for failing to stand up to the President, calling them the “most spineless” in history. Bakare also condemned the emergency declared in Rivers State and the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing the Senate as a place of “political rascality” and not leadership.
Bakare said the government has already failed on its promises, with the removal of fuel subsidy and naira floating pushing more Nigerians into poverty. He urged President Tinubu to change direction and focus on justice, fairness, and the people’s welfare. “It’s not too late to do the right thing,” he said.
