Seven people of Yewuti village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT have been kidnapped, and their captors have demanded a N7 million ransom.
Gunmen reportedly broke into the home of the vice chairman of Kwali, Alhaji Zubairu Jibrin Yewuti, and abducted people from the house of the late Chairman of Kwali, Alhaji Mohammed Gimba.
Isyaku, a family member of the victims, said the kidnappers’ commander had contacted on Thursday afternoon and requested N7 million from the family in order to free the hostages.
According to Isyaku, “Their leader called the family through the phone of one of the victims and requested that they raise N7m before they would release the victims. Still begging with them to lower the ransom is the family.
