Seven individuals have been detained by the Benue State Police Command in the state’s Ogbadibo, Logo, and Gboko Local Government Areas for kidnapping and armed robbery.
This was disclosed by CP Okoro Julius, the Benue State Police Command’s commissioner of police, during a press conference on Tuesday in his Makurdi office.
At the command’s headquarters, the suspects were paraded, and CP Okoro declared that the command would not put up with criminals determined to thwart state police efforts.
He observed that it has established a pattern in the state for those who ought to cooperate with the police to be busy setting houses on fire and looting things.
He issued a warning, stating that he would deal with anyone disturbing the peace in accordance with the law.
The CP pledged not to give up on the fight against crime, citing instances of arson in Oju and Logo where he has detained and charged about 37 suspects.
