In Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, a man named Mohammed Jubrin has been detained on suspicion of murdering his six-year-old son for peeing the bed.
It was learned that the incident took place on June 27, 2023, at his home in Maiduguri State, Wulari neighborhood.
Bulama Lawan, the Ward Head of Wulari, who confirmed the occurrence, claimed to have gotten an urgent phone call from the suspect’s father informing him that his son had murdered his grandson.
“One Alhaji Mustapha called me on the phone and told me that his son, Jubrin Mohamed, had murdered his grandson,” he remarked. I hurried over to the victim’s home and questioned the father of the offender about what took place.
The grandfather claimed that the event they had been trying to prevent ultimately transpired. When asked how? He said that his grandson had been killed by his son, since the boy died after hitting his head against a wall.
Bulama said that when he questioned the suspect about why he killed his son, the suspect began pleading with him for mercy.
He also said, “I summoned the police from the Wulari mountain soldiers right quickly, and they came and took him away.
“When I asked about the son’s offense, the grandfather said the boy used to bed-wet,” he said.
