The inaugural CAF Coaching Instructors’ Course commenced at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project, MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, expressed satisfaction with the high-caliber instructor appointed by the Confederation of African Football for the course.
Ethiopia’s CAF Elite Instructor and FIFA Technical Expert, Abrham Mebratu, will oversee various aspects of the training program, which includes the participation of 15 top Nigerian coaches.
Gusau’s speech, delivered by NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, emphasized the uniqueness of the program and encouraged the coaches to pay close attention to the different modules. He urged them to gain valuable knowledge to share with their fellow Nigerian coaches in future courses.
Sanusi further stressed the importance of the participants demonstrating dedication and diligence throughout the training program, as the Federation has placed significant trust in them. He expressed the hope that more courses of this nature would be conducted in the future.
Among the 15 participants, NFF Technical Director Coach Augustine Eguavoen, former Captain and Head Coach of the Super Eagles, stands out. Other notable participants include Isah Ladan Bosso, former Super Eagles’ captain Daniel Amokachi, Alphonsus Dike, Stanley Eguma, Wemimo Oni Mathew, Henry Abiodun, Sam John Obuh, Edema Fuludu, Bala Nikyu, and Lawrence Ndaks.
Several dignitaries were present at the event, including NFF Deputy General Secretary Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, NFF Director of Communications Mr. Ademola Olajire, NFF Director of Competitions Ms. Ruth David, Deputy Director (Technical) Dr. Robinson Okosun, and Assistant Director (Technical) Mr. Abdulrafiu Yusuf.
