“I Was Not Me. I Was The Character” – Actress Lolade Okusanya

Nollywood actress, Lolade Okusanya, has opened up about her mother’s approval of her role in Toyin Abraham’s new movie, ‘Ijakumo,’ which involved playing an erotica character.

During an appearance on TVC’s program, Your View, Okusanya shared that she had informed her mother and siblings about the nature of her role before taking it on. She sent them pictures of strippers and informed them that she would be portraying a similar character in the upcoming film.

According to Okusanya, her family was prepared and supportive of her decision. She emphasized that during the portrayal of the character, she was fully immersed and focused on delivering the role. She explained that her loved ones, including her mother, sister, and brother, had mentally prepared themselves for what they would see on screen.

While acknowledging the potential impact of social media, Okusanya expressed gratitude for the support and understanding she received from the people who mattered most to her, as they held her hand throughout the process.
