Abiodun Pays Tribute to Late Wife of Alaperu

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has paid tribute to the late wife of the Alaperu of Iperu, Olori Kehinde Idowu Basibo-Odoru, extolling her admirable qualities as a steadfast support for her husband and a unifying force within the royal family during her lifetime.

Born on April 23, 1962, Olori Kehinde Idowu Basibo-Odoru passed away at the age of 61 on July 27, 2023. Her funeral and thanksgiving service were held at the St. James Anglican Church in Iperu, Ogun State.

Governor Abiodun, in his heartfelt remarks, conveyed his condolences to the royal father, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Adeleke Idowu-Basibo, and the entire community of Iperu. He offered prayers for them to find the strength to cope with their loss.

The Governor spoke of the late Olori’s remarkable qualities, describing her as a courageous, loving, and supportive woman with a deep commitment to assisting those around her. He emphasized that her absence would be deeply felt by her immediate family, the community of Iperu, and the entire Ogun State.

“On behalf of the government and the good people of Ogun State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to my dear brother, the Alaperu of Iperu, Oba Adeleke Idowu-Basibo, on the passing of his beloved wife,” Governor Abiodun stated. “The late Olori was not only a devoted companion to her husband but also a nurturing mother to her children. Her absence leaves a void that will be sorely felt. May the good Lord grant her eternal rest.”

Governor Abiodun took the opportunity to advise the congregation on the importance of fairness and leaving a meaningful legacy. He stressed that life is a journey with inevitable exit points, and what truly matters is the impact we make during our time on Earth and the legacy we leave behind.

“Life is a journey, and we all have our appointed exit points which we have no control over. What matters is the positive impact we create while we are here and the legacy that remains after our departure,” he concluded.
