Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has taken measures to curb excessive spending in his administration. He has suspended foreign trips for top officials of his government for the remainder of the year, except for emergencies. The governor emphasized the need to avoid excessive spending on recurrent and overhead costs in the face of the state’s financial challenges.
During a meeting with members of the State Executive Council, Adeleke called for personal sacrifices and directed the Head of Service to prepare a memo that outlines the relationship between commissioners and special advisers to enhance efficiency in governance.
Adeleke stressed the importance of diligence in the budget preparation process and issued key policy directives for the state’s governance. This move is aimed at ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource utilization in Osun State.
