Elder statesman and former APC interim chairman, Bisi Akande, has claimed that the #EndSARS movement was orchestrated to derail President Bola Tinubu. In a viral interview, Akande alleged that the movement was heavily funded from abroad and primarily driven by the Obidient movement.
According to him, #EndSARS was not just a protest against police brutality but a calculated effort to undermine Tinubu’s political influence. He stated that after failing to form a political party, those behind the protest aligned with an existing party to continue their agenda. He further asserted that the movement was strategically designed and executed with foreign backing.
His comments have ignited debates, with many questioning the claims while others see them as a fresh perspective on the controversial protest. The #EndSARS movement, which started as a call to end police brutality, remains a significant part of Nigeria’s political history.
