Senate President Godswill Akpabio has denied the serious accusation made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan that he planned to have her killed. He described the claim as completely false, dangerous, and meant to destroy his name. In a statement from his media aide, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio said he would not be distracted by lies and promised to continue standing for peace and justice in the country.
The Senate President also said his lawyers are preparing letters to both Senator Natasha and former Senator Elisha Abbo. These letters will ask them to take back their words, apologize, and pay for the damage done to his reputation. Akpabio believes there is a planned effort to spread false stories about him for political reasons.

He said Natasha had once accused him of using former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello to harm her, which he called a dangerous lie. He also reminded the public that Natasha had made similar false claims in 2019 and 2023. On the other hand, he said Senator Abbo’s new complaints were also untrue, as Abbo had already apologized last year for making false statements.
