Akwa Ibom Warns Against Fake ₦25,000 Christmas Grant

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has dismissed claims that his administration is distributing ₦25,000 as a Christmas gift. His Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, labeled the circulating social media advert as a scam, urging residents to disregard the misleading link.

Udoh clarified that the governor’s business support grant initiative, which provided ₦50,000 each to 15,000 unemployed youths, concluded on December 19, 2024. He emphasized that the rumored Christmas cash grant is fake and aimed at deceiving unsuspecting individuals.

The statement assured residents that security agencies are investigating the perpetrators behind the fraudulent advert. Citizens were advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
