The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, Alhaji Daud Akinola, has called on the Federal Government to urgently provide assistance to the victims of the explosion that occurred in Ibadan on Tuesday. The explosion, which rocked the Adeyi area of Old Bodija, resulted in the loss of five lives, injuries to 77 people, and significant damage to 58 houses.

Alhaji Daud Akinola, who visited the scene of the blast along with other Islamic leaders, expressed concern about the impact of the incident on the affected individuals and families. He appealed to the Federal Government and President Bola Tinubu to deploy necessary assistance through the Oyo State Government to alleviate the suffering of the victims.
The Muslim leader also called for a thorough investigation into the activities of the illegal miners allegedly involved in the incident. He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his prompt response to the situation.

Among those present during the visit were Alhaja Sidikat Aderibigbe, Iyalaje Adeen of Yorubaland, Alhaji Mutiu Onimalu, Asiwaju Adeen of Oyo State, Chief Nureni Akanbi, Babasale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Chief Bayo Oyero, the state Chairman of the Muslim Community, Alhaji Yekeen Abass, and other Muslim leaders.
