The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed rumors that its Adamawa governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Ahmed (Binani), has been suspended. In a statement on Thursday, the party’s North East Vice Chairman, Mustapha Salihu, ordered an investigation to identify those behind the false claims.
According to the party, the false story was spread by individuals unhappy with efforts by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Salihu to resolve internal issues and unite the APC in Adamawa. Yola South Local Government also confirmed that Binani has not been suspended.
The state APC leadership, led by Idris Shuaibu, reaffirmed Binani’s role as a key stakeholder in the party. The party assured that those found responsible for spreading the fake news would face disciplinary action to prevent further confusion.
