The horrific murder of Uwem Harold Udokwe, a retired brigadier general of the Nigerian Army, has prompted an investigation by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command.
On Saturday, gunmen suspected of being armed robbers killed General Udokwe.
The deceased was attacked and killed at his Sunshine Homes Estate on Saturday at around three in the morning, according to a statement made by the territory’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh.
She stated that FCT Commissioner of Police CP Benneth C. Igweh “ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event” after receiving the incident report.
The PPRO said that the CP assured the deceased’s family and the public that justice would be served promptly while expressing their sympathies.
He promised that those responsible for the heinous deed would be found and prosecuted.
