Atiku Abubakar Mourns Victims of Katsina Bandit Attack

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sorrow over the recent ambush by bandits in Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of security personnel and villagers. The attack, confirmed by ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, claimed about 20 lives, including four police officers and two operatives of the state-owned Community Watch Corps.

The assault occurred on Sunday in Gidan Tofa and Dan Nakwabo villages within the Kankara Local Government Area. In a statement on his X handle, Atiku highlighted his concern over the increasing frequency of banditry and terrorism, criticizing the government’s inadequate response despite significant defense spending.

Atiku conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and urged the government to fulfill its duty of protecting citizens’ lives and property. He stressed the need for a more proactive approach to curb the escalating violence.
