Former Nigerian Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has questioned the educational claims of President Bola Tinubu, a prominent Nigerian politician. Atiku took to his social media account to raise doubts about Tinubu’s educational background.
Atiku mentioned that in 1999, Tinubu claimed to have attended St. John’s Primary School in Lagos and then Children’s Home School in Ibadan, before continuing to Government College Ibadan and Richard Daley College in the United States. However, Atiku pointed out that in recent times, Tinubu has stated that he had no primary and secondary education and only attended Chicago State University in the United States.
Atiku also urged Nigerians to question how Tinubu claims to have obtained a university degree without any primary and secondary education. This move follows Atiku’s recent filing of a separate case in a US District Court against Tinubu, although the exact details of the case were not provided in the context.
Educational qualifications and background often come under scrutiny in Nigerian politics, especially during election campaigns. This incident highlights the political nature of such claims and the importance of transparency in public figures’ educational histories.
