The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sympathy for President Bola Tinubu following an incident during the 2024 Democracy Day celebration. President Tinubu slipped at Eagles Square while boarding the parade vehicle but quickly regained his balance and continued without further issues.
Atiku shared his empathy on X, hoping that the President is well, writing, “I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu…over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him.”
The presidency addressed the incident, confirming it as a minor mishap. The President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, stated that Tinubu merely missed a step but immediately continued with the event, indicating no cause for concern.
