Atiku Abubakar, has commended Nigerian youths over the protest in expressing their disapproval of some government policies and demanding good governance in the country.
Atiku, in a statement via his X handle on Friday, urged the protesters to maintain a peaceful stance and call on more Nigerians to support the #EndBadGovernance demonstration.
The former Vice President described the killings of innocent protesters by the security agents as unacceptable and needless, urging them to refrain from molesting journalists merely reporting the ongoing protest.
Atiku also called on President Bola Tinubu’s government to listen to the voices of the people.
“To the government, I admonish you to heed the voices of the people and come down from your high horses. It is time to demonstrate a sincere commitment to addressing the demands of the protesters. The nation cannot afford further days of unrest; let this be the moment where leadership listens and acts with integrity and urgency.”
