An aviation industry businessman has refuted viral claims suggesting that Nigerian musicians own private jets. The clarification was issued following widespread speculation triggered by a fan’s post about Burna Boy.
The fan shared a video of the Grammy-winning artist disembarking from a private jet in Abuja, sparking rumors. The caption read, “Burna Boy getting off his private jet last night in Abuja. ✈️”

The businessman emphasized that such assumptions are inaccurate, clarifying that most artists use chartered jets rather than owning them outright.
The businessman identified as @LaceVine, who co-founded a private jet charter company, quoted the post stating that no Nigerian music industry musicians actually own private jets. According to him, most artists typically utilize charter services for their air travel needs.
“Nobody owns a jet in the Nigerian music industry. It’s all charter, apart from Davido who flies his Dad’s jet,” he stated.
He further elaborated that his statement was not intended to undermine any artist but to offer clarity on the matter.
“Please there’s no intent to shade anyone with this tweet. Also renting a Jet is not fake life. It’s not cheap,” he added.

The statement has sparked conversations online, with fans and critics alike weighing in on the lifestyle of Nigerian musicians.
An X user, @odogwu_joeblaq reacted, “We know. Many are just surprised you opened a certain artist nyansh in the market. But all is well.”
Another user @onlyonefabzofph added, “We know this already ….but I thought they said Davido bought one pj worth billions of naira 😂😂💔💔and that he has and extra one including the one his father gave him… making his pj 3 😂😂💔💔.”
