Ayra Starr, the sensational Nigerian singer, recently shared details of her phone conversation with American rapper, Nicki Minaj. In an interview with Teen Vogue, the 20-year-old singer expressed how surreal it felt to be talking to someone she grew up listening to and admired.
Ayra Starr credited Nicki Minaj for making her confident and even enabling her to challenge her teachers. “It just feels so surreal. I was on a call with Nicki Minaj…. She doesn’t understand how much I love her. I grew up listening to her. I was like, ‘You made me feel confident. Because of you, I could tell my teachers no!'” Ayra Starr said.
She expressed her gratitude for being signed to Mavin, stating that it was one of the best things that happened to her as an artiste.
