Barcelona Aim to Build Osimhen-Yamal Attack Duo

LaLiga powerhouse FC Barcelona has set its sights on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they look to solidify their attack and pair him with rising star Lamine Yamal.

The Napoli forward, currently impressing on loan at Galatasaray, has emerged as a key target for the Catalan club, which is preparing for life beyond veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.

Osimhen, 26, has a €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract, which is set to run until June 2026. However, the Serie A club retains an option to extend the deal by another year, preventing him from leaving as a free agent.

Despite this, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is hopeful that Napoli will be willing to negotiate a lower transfer fee for the Super Eagles star.

According to reports from Football Italia, citing Corriere dello Sport, Barcelona aims to secure Osimhen’s talent for a sum below the €75 million mark in the summer of 2025. The club is looking to capitalize on his outstanding form and Napoli’s possible willingness to part ways with the player after tensions within the team.

Osimhen has been in top form at Galatasaray, shining in the Turkish Süper Lig and attracting interest from several major European clubs.

Barcelona views him as a long-term successor to Lewandowski, who, at 36, continues to deliver, having already scored 35 goals this season—his best tally since joining the club.

The Spanish side believes Osimhen’s pace, strength, and finishing ability would perfectly complement Yamal’s skill and creativity, forming a lethal attacking partnership for years to come.

However, Osimhen is not the only striker Barcelona is monitoring. The club is also keeping tabs on Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, Lille’s Jonathan David, and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic as they explore options to refresh their frontline.

Even with alternative targets in mind, Osimhen remains Barcelona’s top priority, given his well-rounded attacking attributes and proven goal-scoring record.

As Nigeria continues its quest for World Cup qualification, Osimhen’s reputation continues to soar, potentially paving the way for a high-profile move to Camp Nou in the 2025-26 season.
