Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential assistant, has urged security personnel to pursue the Islamic cleric who threatened to murder President Remi Tinubu’s wife.
The cleric claimed that Remi, the wife of President Tinubu, should be executed by Muslims for leading a group of unbelievers.
Ahmad thinks that the Islamic cleric who held such opinions departed from Islam’s central tenets.
“We are taught to live in harmony with others by our religion. He continued, “Respect, tolerance, and generosity toward all people—regardless of their faith or background—are stressed in the Quran and Hadith.
Islam promotes understanding, respect, and peaceful coexistence between many communities.
Throughout his life, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) coexisted amicably with individuals of different religions. There is a well-known Hadith that describes how the Prophet (PBUH) kindly allowed a group of Christians from Najran to pray in his mosque.
“I hope the authorities will invite the Islamic cleric in question for questioning.”
The Nigerian leader’s wife, Remi Tinubu, is a devout Christian and an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
In 2018, the church conducted its 66th annual convention with the subject “Dominion” at the Old Arena of RCCG, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, where her ordination took place.
