After burying the hatchet on their 17-year-old feud, veteran comedian Bright Okpocha, known as Basketmouth, sheds light on why his colleague AY Makun won’t be participating in his Lagos show this Sunday.
Previously, the two prominent figures in the comedy industry had a strained relationship for over a decade, stemming from an incident 17 years ago. Despite Basketmouth’s public apology and the resolution of their long-standing feud, AY Makun won’t be part of the performance lineup at Basketmouth’s event.
According to Basketmouth, AY won’t be performing or making a cameo at the event held at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, because the show is scripted. In an interview with Arise TV news, Basketmouth clarified the situation, stating that AY has a ticket to attend but isn’t slated to perform. The event, being recorded for TV, follows a predetermined three-hour set with a carefully planned lineup, making it unsuitable for impromptu performances. Basketmouth emphasized the precision and timing required for the show, making it challenging for any unplanned additions to the program.
