Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed his strong support for former President Goodluck Jonathan, suggesting that Jonathan would excel in a future presidential role. This came in response to a call from a non-governmental organization urging Mohammed to consider a presidential run in 2027.
The organization had honored Mohammed with the title of “Champion of Peace, Unity, and Development.” However, the governor stated that he would only consider a leadership role if Jonathan is not running, emphasizing his deep respect for the former president.
Governor Mohammed praised Jonathan’s experience and leadership style, noting that Jonathan’s inclusive approach and initiatives, such as addressing the Almajiri system and creating opportunities for unemployed youths, made his administration stand out. Mohammed believes that Jonathan would outperform the current administration if given the chance, and he urged others to encourage Jonathan to run for the presidency again.
