Bayero University, Kano Suspends Examinations Amid Nationwide Strike

In response to the nationwide strike initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), the management of Bayero University, Kano State, has announced the suspension of the ongoing 2022/2023 first-semester undergraduate examinations and all other academic activities until further notice.

The decision was conveyed in an official statement signed by the acting Registrar of the university, Mrs. Amina Abdullahi, and released to the media in Kano on Tuesday night.

The university unions opted to join the nationwide strike, prompting the management to take the precautionary measure of halting ongoing academic activities. The statement urged all students to remain calm during this period and await further directives from the university’s administration.

The statement reassured students that, despite the interruption, the ongoing examinations were only halfway through. It emphasized that as soon as the nationwide strike concludes, the university will promptly resume and complete the examinations.

Bayero University remains committed to keeping the academic community informed and ensuring a smooth transition back to regular academic activities once the nationwide strike is resolved.
