Elder statesman and PDP chieftain Olabode George has accused President Bola Tinubu of exacerbating Nigeria’s economic woes through harmful policies. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, George highlighted the widespread hunger and anger across the nation, asserting that Tinubu has shown little empathy for Nigerians’ suffering.
George condemned the recent stampedes at palliative distribution events, which claimed several lives, as evidence of the harsh economic realities. He criticized Tinubu’s media chat on Monday, describing it as lacking conviction and offering no hope to struggling Nigerians.
Calling for immediate action, George urged the President to reduce petrol prices and introduce meaningful palliatives to ease the burden on citizens. He stressed the urgent need for policies that prioritize the welfare of Nigerians and revive collapsing businesses.
